Achamore House

Achamore House is our beautiful Scottish family home inhabited by Monica and Per Östlund with family. After a long career in school and business, this has become a dream come true for us.

Achamore was originally built in 1884, tragically the house was damaged due to a fire, but was rebuilt to its full glory again in 1900. The world-famous Charles R Macintosh was one of the architects who designed and left his mark on the house, which is still very visible. The surrounding Achamore Gardens was established in 1944 and is famous for its floral splendor. Here you will find various sorts of rhododendron, fuchsia, azalea, camellia, hortensia and other tropical plants. On top of this, you get a spectacular view over the Isle of Islay, Jura and Mull of Kintyre from our beautiful lookout point.
